Read the communication as a source
Identify what the bank states, which account is involved, and the relevant dates or instruction it provides. Keep any associated IRS correspondence available. A balance displayed in an account and a formal communication do not necessarily explain the same fact. Use their actual wording rather than assuming that a remembered description defines the current levy status.
Keep the process question separate
Official IRS bank-levy information explains the relevant framework and responsibilities. Review current instructions for the actual account question, including facts still needing confirmation. A reported hold and an established later action have different meanings. A general guide cannot determine the individual timing or outcome, and a phone discussion is not proof that funds were released or a tax obligation changed.
Discuss assistance with the documents available
Ask what review is proposed, which records matter, and who would handle a response or request under an agreed scope. Explain any necessary-cost concern alongside the account facts. Preserve actual submitted material and later responses where relevant. The next task should be described clearly, without turning a prepared record or expected result into an established IRS decision.
